Description
A Mother’s Day Prayer starts with the question: “Who in this church is a Dorcas?” No, this is not an insult. Dorcas was a wonderful women found in Acts chapter 9. She lived so well for God that she was given the opportunity to live twice. She lived, died, and then was risen back to life. Moreover, Dorcas is described as a person who was “full of good works and almsgiving.” Her spiritual gift was to do good and help others. A Mother’s Day Prayer asked four important questions:
- How would you live differently if you just came back from the dead?
- What can I do to be like Dorcas?
- What about me?
- Who gets the praise when we do good?
“Jesus will recount, one by one, all our acts of kindness. The works of mercy are simple deeds. And yet, in these simple deeds we serve Jesus. Astounding is this truth: we serve Christ by serving needy people.” – Max Lucado
