Description
Let me start with a profound statement: Being a father is about children. Let that sink in a minute. So, Father’s Day is not really about me. It is about my children. Your children. If you are not a father, it is about our children. You can’t have fathers without children. Men, it is about God’s children.
Raising strong, Godly children is work. Men, it is the most important job that you have, nurturing little people into big people. I am using the word people, because many fathers don’t think their children are people, until they are older. Now, listen closely, I have something important to say. Jesus, would say, “He that has an ear to hear, let him hear.” In other words, listen closely. I’ve learned something from being a father and from over 20 years as a high school principal. If you wait until after your children are in high school to take on the fathering role, it… is… too… late.
This sermon provides four important lessons on Father’s Day:
- Love Your Children As People
- Pray Until Something Happens (PUSH)
- Love the Mother of Your Children
- Change the Relationship
Father’s Day is a 30-minute sermon, in Microsoft Word format. Being a father is about children. Perhaps, we should rename the holiday from Father’s Day to Children’s Day. If we all realized it is all about God’s children, the world would truly be a much better place.

What a powerful message. Good fathers a truly a gift from God. This message reminded me how thankful I am to have a dad who always puts his children before himself.
