Open the Eyes of My Heart, Lord, to see you more clearly.

Open the Eyes of My Heart – Trust God is a 30-minute sermon, in Microsoft Word format. The sermon starts with the following lyrics from   Sonicflood: “Open the eyes of my heart, Lord. Open the eyes of my heart. I want to see you. I want to see you” (Sonicflood).

It is easy to trust in God when we feel great and things are going our way, but the lesson in this sermon is we must learn to trust in God more than our feelings. When we have a child or grandchild in the hospital, we must trust God. When our pay check is barely enough to make ends meet, we must trust God. We must trust God even when the landlord demands we pay our late rent payment. When our joints ache, we must trust God. Many things in our lives may not be good, but God is good… and he is looking out for our good.

Key message:

“Feeling helpless doesn’t mean everything is hopeless.”

Key scriptures:

2 Kings 6:12-23Romans 5:8, and Luke 12:7
